10 Best Natural Cancer Treatment Herbs: Part Two

A few weeks ago, we touched base on 3 of the top cancer-fighting remedies that can be easily found and implemented into your diet. Although we are talking about natural cancer-fighting remedies that have been researched to help fight and cure cancer, we should also be aware of our diets, the types of foods that we eat, and how it’s prepared.

For example, it is known that grilling, frying, and broiling meats and other foods at higher temperatures can form HCA’s (Heterocyclicamines). These are very powerful carcinogens that are known to be active in many types of cancers.  If at all possible, try to avoid cooking foods to the point where they’re burnt, as this will only contribute to the formation of HCA’s.

While we try to follow a healthy diet that includes nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables, and herbs, let’s have a look at some more cancer-fighting herbs and remedies that are known to treat and prevent cancer.

Garlic- Garlic is known to greatly reduce the risk of stomach cancer, studies show. Garlic is found to have Allium Compounds (dialyl sultides) which are beneficial to the immune system, while also boost the ability of immune system cells to fight and break down cancer related free radicals. These compounds also have the ability to prevent carcinogens from combining with effected cells thus slowing tumor growth.  Related herbs such as chives, leeks, and onions have also been found to lower the risk of colon and stomach cancers. Be aware that researchers have found garlic supplements to be not as effective as fresh garlic in regards to cancer prevention and treatment. Tomatoes- Tomatoes carry a powerful antioxidant called lycopene, which are known to have a devastating effect on free radicals (roaming oxygen molecules). These free radicals are known to trigger many types of cancers. Tomatoes that are grown and harvested in warmer climates are known to have greater levels of lycopene which are even more beneficial in the fight against cancer. Tomatoes also have high levels of vitamin C and also antioxidants which promote healthy cell growth thus lowering the risk of cancer. Other fruits and vegetables that contain these beneficial substances are carrots, red peppers, and watermelons. However, they contain much lesser quantities. An increase in the consumption of lycopene can prevent mouth cancer, and reduce breast, pancreas, colorectal, and breast cancers.  For ultimate absorption of lycoprene, it is recommended to consume with oil (Sesame, Olive oil is recommended.)
