Is Vitamin D the Key to Preventing Disease and Cancer?

Would you beleive it if someone told you there was an easy, extremely affordable way to not only build your immune system, but strengthen bones and teeth, stave off cancer, and prevent multiple sclerosis, autoimmune disorders and infections? Vitamind just might be the answer for all all of these, and more.

Latest research shows that the preventative benefits of Vit D is one of the easiest and most affordable ways of staving off disease and prolonging the lives of people everywhere. Vitamine D, which is produced naturally in the body when we’re exposed to ultraviolet rays, has been proven to block cancer cell proliferation and improve blood vessel and immune system functions (published in the “Archives of Internal Medicine” involving 57,311 participants.) These results involving vitamin d are part of a growing list of benefits that Vit D can offer in regards to proper health.

So, how much Vitamin d do I need? And how much Vit d is too much? Some experts say that too much vitamin d can be harmful to your health, especially infants. Sypmtoms of too much vitamine d can be characterized by nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, excessive thirst, frequent urination, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, muscle and joint aches, confusion, and fatigue. More serious consequences could occur such as kidney damage.

Most medical experts recommend no more than 400 IU of vitamin d per day for children and infants. The FDA and Health Canada report that about half of this amount of adequate for people under the age of 50. However, this estimation may be too low considering the climate and the diet of many people living across North America. Those living in less sunny climates will need much more than this estimation. This also applies to those whos diets do not contain a sufficient amount of vitamind to meet this recommendation.

Health officials do, however, say that 2000 IU of vitamin d is the “tolerable upper intake level”. If much more than this is taken, some of the aforementioned symptoms could come to surface.

Those who are found to be deficient in vitamine d need not fret! No need to run out to your local pharmacy and spend your hard earned money on manufactured, man made supplements. Simply step outside in the sunlight for 18-20 minutes (do this in 5 minute increments to avoid sun burn) per day and you’ll get more than enough of your daily recommended intake of that precious Vit D! (over 3000 IU in fact.)

Conclusively, vitamin d is progressively making its way into the spotlight as preventative way to thwart the onset of many types of diseases and illnesses. With continued ongoing research being more commonplace amongst mainstream and natural medical researchers, we can now be assured that vitamind is definitely a safe, natural way of keeping our bodies free of disease while prolonging life as well! Sunlight shouldn’t be a threat to our health and well being, on the other hand, it’s the easiest, most efficient and affordable way to get all the vitamin d we need to keep our bodies healthy and disease free.
